New Arena event with valuable insight -  ‘Pub sector: The changing landscape’ with Jonathon Swaine,

By Berenice, Tuesday 19 July 2016

On Tuesday 6 September Arena will proudly present its new, exciting event ‘Pub sector: The changing landscape’ with Jonathon Swaine, Managing Director, Fuller's Inns. The event has been specifically designed to navigate and debate the changes, challenges and opportunities affecting the vibrant pub sector – issues that both Jonathan Swaine and Peter Backman from Horizons will consider.

One core topic that Jonathon Swaine will address in his post-lunch speech is the changing face of the pub customer.  He will discuss how today’s consumer demands more and having great food and an interesting range of drinks is no longer enough. To win the battle for custom today, you need to be delivering an experience for a consumer who has access to more options and who can access the views of critics and colleagues at the touch of a smartphone button. And, to deliver that award-winning experience, you need the best people.

Peter Backman will also present a twenty year ‘Tour d’horizon’ of the pub sector. He will look especially at the role that food has played in the development of the pub over the years with some thoughts on the changes that the future might hold.

Don’t forget, the first 45 attendees to book their tickets will have the fantastic opportunity to join a guided tour of the Fuller's Griffin Brewery, starting at 9am prompt, followed by a ‘Craft Beer’ talk and tasting session with John Keeling, Fuller’s head brewer.
