‘Keeping UP’ with Kate Nicholls, CEO, UKHospitality plus panel discussion

By Berenice, Monday 26 October 2020

As the UK hospitality industry enters yet more challenging times, Arena will be hosting a FREE virtual event at 8.30am on Tuesday 3 November: ‘Keeping UP’ - sharing an expert update on the industry and practical ideas for looking after mental wellness during these changing times.

Educate, engage, inspire

The event will open with a live, up-to-the minute update from Kate Nicholls, the CEO of UKHospitality who will talk about the latest developments impacting the industry in these challenging times and how UKHospitality is working with the government as the voice of the sector.

After Kate’s address, there will be a panel discussion focussing on the all-important issue of mental wellbeing within the industry.

Many people experience mental health challenges at some point in their lives and the average adult will say ‘I’m fine’ 14 times per week yet only 19% will actually mean it.  In addition, more than 68% of respondents to Hospitality Action’s recent mental health survey say they feel worried, stressed, demotivated or frustrated about the future.

To discuss this all-important topic we are delighted to have on our expert panel -  Amanda Scott, Director of Talent and Learning and D&I, Compass Group UK and Ireland; Martin Williams, CEO of Gaucho and CEO and Founder of M Restaurants and Camilla Woods, Services Director, Hospitality Action who will share their knowledge and experience.

Why Attend?

Kate Nicholls’ industry address will look at the current situation affecting the industry and how, as an organisation, UKHospitality is working with government on so many different levels during the current climate.

The panel discussion on mental wellbeing will explore the results of Hospitality Action’s recent mental health survey, what help is out there for individuals working in the industry, what different companies in the sector are doing to look after the mental health and wellbeing of their teams and what you can do if you or your team are experiencing mental health challenges.
