We are thrilled to announce that Kevin Watson, the managing director of Amadeus – one of the UK’s fastest growing venue and event caterers and part of NEC Group – will headline the Arena Christmas Event 2016. Under Kevin’s leadership (since 2011), Amadeus has enjoyed a successful period of redirection and business and cultural transformation that has produced: an increase in revenue of over £14million in the last four years; more than the doubling of its profits; the contract for catering at the Olympic Park during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, plus other high profile events; and over 650 awards for quality and innovation in catering – including the Cost Sector Catering 2016 Event/Stadia/Arena award and, most recently, the Retail & Leisure Caterer of the Year Foodservice Catey.
Today, in its 40th anniversary year, Amadeus has a fine reputation as an exciting, adventurous and thriving company that delivers unique and memorable food experiences to over four million visitors at more than 900 events per year at the NEC Group venues – the NEC, ICC, Genting Arena, Barclaycard Arena and Vox Conference Centre.
Amadeus also caters for external venues, including Cadbury World, Library of Birmingham, Dudley Zoo, Coventry Cathedral, Austin Court and Stoneleigh Abbey, Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall. And, today, it announced a new £12m contract for four major Belfast visitor attractions – Belfast Castle, Malone House, Belfast Zoo and the Stables coffee shop in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park.
Kevin joined NEC Group in 2011 with over 20 years’ experience in retail catering, including high street retail, contract catering and brand building with businesses including The Natural Retail Company, AEG and Compass Group PLC.
Join us at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel on Monday 5 December to gain an insight into Kevin’s career and the transformation and future direction of Amadeus, including its driving principles of quality, creativity and growth, it’s venue and event catering expertise, and the significant details that set it apart from the crowd.
