Keynote speaker confirmed for Arena Savoy Lecture 2020

It's with great pleasure that we announce that our illustrious speaker for the Arena Savoy Lecture 2020 is our industry colleague and friend, Dr Andrew Kemp MBE. We all know Andy as a successful leader in our industry but how much do we really know about his career, achievements and contributions that span over 40 years?
Andy is one of the most well-known, well-respected leaders and personalities in the foodservice and hospitality industry. His influence is far reaching; from the evolution and growth of Bidfood, where he is Group Sales & Marketing Director, to the industry charities he gives his time to, the young talent he mentors and nurtures, the social impact projects he champions and the associations he supports – including Arena, where he’s a three-times past chair and long-standing vice chairman.
An experienced marketeer and sales director, Andy’s career has seen him launch or relaunch many favourite consumer brands here in the UK and his passion for best practice, diversity, talent and skills development and customer service, alongside his commitment to nutrition, health and wellness, has left a lasting legacy on the industry.

- Awarded an MBE in June 2019 in recognition of his outstanding services to the foodservice and hospitality industry
- A National Officer of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in the support of the National and International Young Chefs annual contests, encouraging chefs under the age of 28 to excel and develop
- Received an honorary doctorate from the University of West London in 2017 for services to the industry
- A founding member of the One and All Foundation, supporting diversity and opportunity for all in Hospitality
- He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality
- Public Sector top 20 most influential people 2018 and 2019
- LACA Chairman award 2019 – services to hospitality and foodservice
- Advisor and works closely with LACA and Government Advisory Committee, APGG, working with Sharon Hodgson MP. Andy is committed to the protection of school meals and effects of holiday hunger
- Instrumental in delivering advisory document to Industry - “Making Sense of Standards”, which helps caterers find their way through the maze of legislation that impacts on their business
- Works closely with the Michael Caines’ Academy (Exeter College) in the support of student careers and skills development in fine dining
- Trustee and Board member of Springboard and active supporter of Hospitality Action for over 15 years
