Last week, Coffer Peach Business Tracker revealed that the collective like-for-like sales for the major casual dining groups were down 5.6% in May, compared to May 2015, the biggest fall in two years. It is said that this could see companies rethink ambitious expansion plans. The significance of this decline in sales for the casual dining market is sure to be a topic for debate at The Arena Summer Event 2016 on Monday 11 July.
Steve Richards, the CEO of Casual Dining Group, one of the largest mid-market restaurant groups in the UK that employs over 10,000 people and serves more than 20 million meals at 300 restaurant locations, will address industry colleagues as keynote speaker. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say about the company’s vision for doubling its diverse portfolio to 600 restaurants in light of this news.
International full service market research agency YouGov will also present its latest findings on the casual dining market, giving attendees valuable insight into consumer perspectives, trends and behaviours.
